Feature
Comedy features that are 30 minutes and longer.
Short
Comedy shorts that are longer than 5 minutes and shorter than 29 minutes.
Short Shorts
Comedy shorts that are between 1 and 4:59 minutes
Webisodes
Web Series are 3 to 5 minutes in length each episode and are part of an internet television series. Submit one webisode of the series. If selected screen 2 episodes of your choice.
Student Shorts
Student produced shorts 29 minutes and under. Student produced shorts must have a university header on submitted screeners and will need to provide the university adviser contact within the submission form.
Viral Videos
Comedy viral video less than 2 minutes. Professional or amateur.

The Chicago Comedy Film Festival is an annual event committed to advancing and fostering comedy filmmaking as a vital and influential art form.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Chicago Comedy Film Festival will screen feature and short comedy films from across the USA and will aim to showcase films that are both humorous and poignant. Comedy often has difficulty competing against other genres in the film festival circuit and our mission is encourage you to keep making comedy films. The Chicago Comedy Film Festival is a welcoming environment for both experienced and first time comedy filmmakers.

GENERAL RULES
Our categories consist of Feature and Short comedies. We will offer Best of Fest recognition in each category, Audience Choice in each category, as well as The Connie Clair Spirit Award for the Top Female Filmmaker overall. Other juried awards will include: Best Actor/Actress in a Feature or Short, Best Web Series, Best Director of a Feature/Short, Best Animated Film, and Best Student Film.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Chicago Comedy Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. Payment of submission fee does not guarantee inclusion in our festival. If your film is chosen as an official selection CCFF does not compensate for travel, accommodations, or appearance fees unless otherwise offered. CCFF reserves the right to schedule changes and may at any time revoke a film screening, festival passes, accommodations, and any other filmmaker agreements for any reason. ONLINE SCREENERS ONLY. Once the film is accepted to Chicago Comedy Film Festival, DIGITAL COPIES and PRESS SCREENERS (DVD) will be required. The committee reserves the right to rescind any screening engagement if the film is not delivered on time. Chicago Comedy Film Festival holds your screeners in a secure fashion and takes the filmmakers rights very seriously. Please note that technical glitches will not be adjusted during the screening of your film. Your screener must be in final format upon acceptance and filmmakers will not be allowed to have private technical meetings with the projectionist due to CCFF contractual rules with the theater. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. Upon acceptance, CCFF will send filmmakers an additional contract and waiver for our Laugh Out Local events. Laugh Out Local is a way to bring independent comedy to cities around the US and promote the talents of comedy filmmakers. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Chicago Comedy Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
