Feature - Autism Awareness
A film that promotes autism awareness and either promotes acceptance or provides information in a thoughtful, sensitive and intelligent way.
Documentary - Autism Awareness
Autistic Filmmaker
We are looking for films created by persons on the autism spectrum.
Short - Autism Awareness
Short films can be documentary or fiction based films. The subject matter must deal with autism either as a b story or the subject of the film.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE

We wish to celebrate films that promote autism awareness and that have the power to enhance the lives of our community. We also wish to honor and support autistic filmmakers and artists that have chosen film as their profession.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Welcome to Autfest. Presented by The Autism Society of America. Our goal is to bring to audiences in America the great work that is being done by filmmakers in the autism community and also to highlight films that promote autism awareness. We are a competition festival and will give out the following awards: Best Film, Actor/Actress, Director, Autistic Filmmaker.

GENERAL RULES

Autfest: Presented by Autism Society of America awards Audience Choice honors to Best Feature and Best Documentary, In addition, Director's Choice Awards are given in each category, as well as other categories to be determined each year. Festival judges also award a Best Autistic Filmaker. This can go to any artist on a film with an autism diagnosis.

Awards are presented to filmmakers at the awards ceremony at the end of the festival.

For entries paying the Student Fee, a copy of a current student ID MUST be included with the submission.

Participation in Autfest: Presented by Autism Society of America implies understanding and acceptance of festival regulations.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

AGREEMENT:

1. Exhibition prints of films accepted for the Festival must be in accepted digital formats.

2. The number, times, dates, and locations of screenings of films are at the discretion of Autfest: Presented by Autism Society of America

3. The print supplier will be responsible for the cost of shipment to the Festival. The Festival will return the print postage prepaid to the address provided by the supplier on the final acceptance contract. If you have a change in address, please contact us immediately to assure the safe return of your print.

4. The individual or corporation submitting the film will provide publicity materials as outlined above no later than 5 days after the acceptance of the film for exhibition at the Festival.

5. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
