MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Taiwanese American Film Festival celebrates and showcases the achievements of Taiwanese American and Taiwanese international cinema artists. Our ultimate goal is to create a platform for a growing cinema community and to help emerging filmmakers in their next cinematic venture.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The inaugural Taiwanese American Film Festival was a major success!
The one-day event was held this past summer in Downtown LA. With an intimate showcase of 17 unique films and a sold out panel discussion, we celebrated the achievements of up and coming filmmakers to delighted audiences throughout the day.
Our second edition of the Taiwanese American Film Festival will be held on August 3-4, 2018 returning to the Downtown Independent Theater in DTLA. The festival will continue to be the premiere showcase for films and media works by Taiwanese international and Taiwanese American filmmakers.
Our ultimate goal is to strengthen the platform for this growing creative community and to help emerging filmmakers in their next cinematic venture.
With an additional night this year, we plan to expand our program which will also include an Awards Ceremony, opening and closing celebrations, an industry panel, and a variety of food and drink vendors plus art and music attractions.
Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP) enhances the Taiwanese-American community by networking individuals interested in professional and career development while emphasizing the promotion and preservation of Taiwanese American cultural identity.
TAP-LA is a chapter of Taiwanese American Professionals, a national program of Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL). TAP chapters make up the largest network of Taiwanese American young professionals in the United States, and can be found in most major cities spanning coast to coast.
Established as a program by Taiwanese American Professionals of Los Angeles — The Taiwanese American Film Festival will serve its second year organized by a crafty and passionate team of experienced individuals from the film and startup industries.
