|Any film that deals with envirnonmental issues. This includes but is not limited to subjects of current green initiatives, personal accounts, and nature films. All forms of film accepted.
All films submitted are considered for nomination to the Best Environmental category. Best of Category winners are automatically nominated for Festival Grand Prize.
All South Florida based productions submitted to this category are automatically considered for nomination to a special BEST OF LOCAL category. The BEST OF LOCAL winner is automatically nominated to the BEST OF FESTIVAL category.
All International films submitted to this category are automatically considered for nomination to a special BEST FOREIGN category. The BEST FOREIGN winner is automatically nominated to the BEST OF FESTIVAL category.

Miami short Film Festival 's goal year after year is focused on motivating directors, screenwriters, actors, and producers to share their films with fellow filmmakers and industry professionals (to bring exposure to independent up-and-coming filmmakers.)

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Miami Short Film Festival (MiamisFF) was founded in 2002 by the dedicated producer/actor William Vela.
We are celebrating the 18th Annual Edition of the Miami Short Film Festival - November 06-10, 2019. Submit your film for the chance to win a variety of prizes.

Our Philosophy: Short films, past and present, are true works of art, and deserve a venue dedicated to their exhibition.
Our mission is to present quality films from around the world as well as support, recognize and honor filmmakers creating a films under 20 minutes.
Serving as South Florida’s only short film festival, MiamisFF was founded to showcase Miami as a leader in contemporary filmmaking, and aims to exhibit the most captivating and innovative short content. In the process, MiamisFF hopes to build an audience for short film as well as indulge it’s current dedicated followers.
For two weeks every fall, thousands will flock to Miami to view over 50 films from around the world. These films are organized thematically, in hopes of representing the full range of the human experience as reflected by our chosen filmmakers.
The Miami short Film Festival is a dedicated contributor to the cultural arts, economy, and education of Miami-Dade County. Through a highly effective strategic partnership model, MiamisFF has introduced its unique programs and programming year-round into theaters, classrooms, businesses, and organizations throughout Miami-Dade County.

2017 Submission Requirements:
Films must have been completed after Jan 1, 2015
All non-English films must have English sub-titles.
Only digital submission are accepted.
We will only consider works with a maximum running time of 20 minutes or less.
There is no minimum running time.
Works-in-progress will be considered, provided they will be completed prior to the Festival.
If your film is selected we will ask you to email us a still image and press kits.
You will be notified of acceptance by or before September 02, 2017
We accept films shot on 35mm, 16mm, 8mm, HD or Video.
All films selected for the Festival grant MsFF the rights to use press materials from the film for
MsFF is permitted to retain copies of each film selected as part of our festival library and for media educational and MsFF presentations.
All films selected for the Festival grant MsFF the rights to used
clip/trailer for promotional purposes.
Though not a requirement, we prefer that films NOT have previously screened in a public theatrical setting in Dade or Broward County FL prior to their screening at MsFF.
Our selection committee will factor in previous screenings in the Dade or Broward area when determining a film's potential invitation.
Films must not be in current distribution through public media of any sort, including broadcast television, internet streaming, at the time of the Festival exhibition dates (November 2017).
You may submit more than one film, but each one must be on a separate file and must be accompanied by its own completed submission file and entry fee.
The Festival will not confirm receipt of film by telephone.

* Film selection for the Festival will be made by the Festival Committee.
* All filmmakers will be notified via email of acceptance.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Miami Short Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.
The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Miami Short Film Festival Inc, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
I, the undersigned, do hereby consent and agree that Miami Short Film Festival and its employees, or agents have the right to present my film and to use these in any and all media, now or hereafter known, and exclusively for the purpose of show case and promote the Miami Short Film Festival. I further consent that my name and identity may be revealed therein or by descriptive text or commentary. I do hereby release to Miami Short Film Festival, its agents, and employees all rights to exhibit this work in print and electronic form publicly or privately. I understand that there will be no financial or other remuneration for showcasing the film, either for initial or subsequent transmission or playback. I represent that I am at least 18 years of age, have read and understand the foregoing statement, and am competent to execute this agreement.
