Manage Your Submissions


How do I track my submission?

You can track the status of all successful Withoutabox submissions through the Submissions section of the website, located in the left-side navigation.

The status of each submission will be located in the right hand corner, and a legend is located at the bottom of the page for your convenience.

All festivals using Withoutabox are asked to notify filmmakers of the final judging status of their submitted projected.

The approximate notification date will be posted below your submission, in the submission status section of your Withoutabox account.

You will see the final judging status for your submission displayed in the Submission Status section of your account.

If you have not received a final judging status, and the notification date listed has passed, please contact us and we will notify the festival.

How do I attach a screener after my submission is complete?

You may attach a screener to your submission after completion if Secure Online Screener option was selected. To attach a screener, please access your submission by selecting Submissions in the left side navigation panel.

Once you’ve located the submission, select “View Confirmation Page”. You will then have the option to either select a previously uploaded screener or you may upload a new screener for this submission. These options are located in the Submission Copy section of the Confirmation Page.

What is my Withoutabox tracking number?

For each submission you make on Withoutabox, you will receive a submission confirmation page with a tracking number specific to the application. Some of our festivals refer to this as a tracking ID.

If you are submitting an electronic screenplay, tracking numbers are automatically built into your file extension once you submit. You only need to add a tracking number to a script if you are mailing a hard copy.

To view your tracking number, please access your submission by selecting Submissions in the left side navigation panel.

How do I replace the screener attached to my submission?

If your submission status is "Submitted" you can upload the new video to your project, and then contact us if you would like to replace the screener attached to your submission.

Unfortunately, we are unable to adjust the screener for any submissions that are marked as "In Consideration".

How do I view my transactions?

You may view any credit card transaction that has been made through Withoutabox by selecting Transactions beneath the account holder name in the upper, right hand corner of the website.

All processed transactions made via credit card will appear on this page immediately. If you’d like to view transactions made more than 90 days ago, please use the drop down menu next to “View”.

If you’ve opted to pay by mail, your transaction will appear when the festival marks your payment as received.

I opted to send a DVD, where do I send it to?

Mailing instructions for each festival are located at the bottom of the Confirmation Page. If you’ve completed a submission, you may access the Confirmation page by selecting Submissions in the left side navigation panel.

Once you’ve located the submission, select “View Confirmation Page”.

What is Submission Protection?

Our Submission Protection option allows you to receive a 100% refund of your Entry Fee if:

  • You decide to withdraw your Submission within 5 days of submitting your project.
  • Your physical copy is lost in the mail, your submission is not tracked by the Competition within the Withoutabox service, or is not received by the Competition
  • The Festival to which you submitted your Work does not take place or gets de-listed from Withoutabox during the applicable Submission Entry period.

How do I change the category for my submission?

Please contact us if you’d like to change the category for your submission.

Please be sure to provide the name of the festival and the category you prefer.

How do I pay my entry fees online?

After you’ve completed your submission, you will be taken to the checkout page. We accept VISA and MASTERCARD for all currencies and AMERICAN EXPRESS for US Dollars. website.

You may also pay your entry fees by selecting “Pay Now” in the Submissions page or by selecting the cart within the header of the website.

How do I know if my payment went through?

You can view Transactions beneath the account holder name in the upper, right hand corner of the website.

All processed transactions made via credit card will appear on this page immediately.

How do I withdraw my submission?

If you have paid any entry fees for your submission, please contact us.

If you have not yet paid your submission fees, please select the cart located in the header of the website to delete your submission.

Can I change my submission copy format or cover letter after my submission is completed?

Unfortunately, we are unable to make changes after a submission is completed.

I received a Promo Code for a discount on submission fees. How do I apply the code to the submission?

If you haven't yet submitted, you can apply the code during submission on the Submission Details page in the Payments field by selecting "Promo Code or Full Fee Waiver" option. Please enter the promo code you received and the name of the individual or where you received the code. Once you fill in the submission details and select Next to complete your submission, you will see the discounted price reflected in the shopping cart.

If you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Support team and we'll be glad to help apply it.

I received a code after I submitted. How do I apply this code to my submission?

Please contact our Customer Support team with the following:

  • The name of the festival
  • The tracking number for your submission
  • The promo code or deadline waiver and where you received the code
and we'll be glad to help apply this to your submission.

How do I find festivals that are offering Promo Codes?

We highlight festivals offering Promo Codes from time to time in our marketing emails. We recommend visiting the festival's listing on Withoutabox, the festival website and social media channels to find any promotional offers.

How do I apply a deadline waiver to my submission?

To apply a deadline waiver, please submit to the festival and on the submission details page, click the "Deadline Waiver" option and enter how you received the waiver and select the deadline you're submitting to.

If you've already applied and need help applying a deadline waiver, please provide us with the following:

  • The name of the festival
  • The tracking number for the submission
  • The deadline waiver and name of the individual who granted this waiver

How do I apply a full fee and deadline waiver to my submission?

To apply a combined full fee and deadline waiver, please submit to the festival and on the submission details page, select "Full Invitation" and enter how you received the waiver and select the deadline you're submitting to.
