Yes, the app is available free to all festivals accepting submissions on Withoutabox.

If are new to Withoutabox, please register your festival or contact our team at to get started.

Do I need an Amazon Fire TV to use the app?

Yes, you will need an Amazon Fire TV device to access the app. The app is compatible with both the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick.

My festival doesn’t rate films on Withoutabox. Can I still use the app?

Absolutely. While we recommend that you use the judging functionality on for a more streamlined experience, it is not required. Any judge can watch their assigned submission videos on an HDTV using the Withoutabox Festival Judging App. While ratings are not required, the app sorts your assigned submissions based on whether a film has been rated, so you may find it more convenient to assign a rating to a submission within the app or on the desktop site to help you track your viewing assignments.

Can I watch both Vimeo videos and Secure Online Screener videos on the app?

Yes, you can watch your Secure Online Screener and Withoutabox Vimeo submissions in the app, but you may need to enter a password to watch Vimeo videos. You can enter the Vimeo password with the on-screen keyboard or the free Amazon Fire TV Remote App, available for iOS and Android devices. You can also use a wireless or USB keyboard that connects to your television to enter Vimeo passwords in the app.
