For new submissions:
For past submissions:
You can associate Vimeo links with your past submissions if your submission status is still “Submitted”, you indicated “Secure Online Screener” as submission format, and you have not yet attached a screener to the submission.
If your submission meets the above criteria, please follow the instructions below for adding a Vimeo link to your submission.
If your submission status is still “Submitted” and you have previously attached a screener to the submission, please contact us for further assistance.
Yes. If you have password protected your Vimeo video, you can share the password with festivals that you submit to. You can enter the password details along with Vimeo link on the Manage Videos page.
The festival can view your Vimeo video in the project details page, similar to how they would view a video uploaded to Withoutabox. The difference is that the festival team may need to enter a password provided by you to unlock the Vimeo video (when password protected). From the project view / details page, the festival can click the Vimeo video, copy the password shown on the page (if available), enter the password using the text input provided on the player window. The video will start to play in the embedded Vimeo player on Withoutabox.
We do not support replacing the existing video attached to a submission with a Vimeo link; however, you can attach Vimeo links to your new submissions or to submissions for which you have not attached an online screener yet. You can attach a Vimeo link to your submission when you submit to a festival. Please contact us for further assistance.
Yes. You can update Vimeo details including link, password and title both before and after attaching the link to a submission. Please follow the instructions below for updating Vimeo details.
The new link will appear on all previous submissions using Vimeo as the screener option automatically.
You can remove the Vimeo link if the link is not attached to any active submissions. For removing the Vimeo link:
You can watch your Vimeo video on your project page. If your project contains multiple submission videos including videos hosted on Withoutabox/IMDb and Vimeo link, the most recent submission video (Withoutabox Video or Vimeo link) will be displayed as the primary video on your project page. You can navigate to the Videos tab to view all the submission videos including those hosted on Vimeo. Please note, festivals will only see the particular submission video / Secure Online Screener that you attached at the point of submission.
Yes. We support both direct uploads to Withoutabox / IMDb as well as Vimeo links. Please note that you will only be able to provide one screener with each submission you make.
Our goal is to provide convenient options for you to submit your project to festivals. If you already uploaded a Submission Video to Withoutabox, we recommend using the Withoutabox video to submit to festivals. You can upload file sizes up to 10GB with support for 1080p HD playback.
If you have your submission video hosted on Vimeo, feel free to include the link to your video along with any password and this can be shared with any festivals you submit to. When using the Vimeo link option, the film “still” will not be displayed on the project page that festivals see, and festivals will need to enter the password you provide. However, we understand this may be more convenient for you if you have already uploaded your video to Vimeo.
We need to ensure that your video’s Vimeo privacy settings are correctly set for festival judges to watch it. Please ensure that the privacy settings are set to the following:
Note: We are only requesting that the video be embeddable to allow the festivals to watch your video on our site. If you have concerns about embedding your video anywhere, you can specify www.withoutabox.com as one of the domains that is permitted to embed your video (you can control the domain settings on Vimeo if you are a Vimeo PRO or Plus member).
