    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

***THE SUBMISSION CAP HAS BEEN MET AND SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED***

    WHAT'S YOUR STORY?

The HBOAccess Writing Fellowship is designed to give emerging, diverse writers the opportunity to develop a half-hour or hour script suitable for HBO or Cinemax.

The program will select up to 8 diverse writers to take part in a series of master classes held over one week in mid-August at the HBO campus in Santa Monica. Classes will consist of discussions with HBO executives and showrunners and will focus on character, story, pitching, securing an agent, and networking.

Each participant will then be paired with an HBO or Cinemax development executive who will serve as his/her mentor throughout next 8 months. Mentoring can be done remotely or in person pending whichever is logistically feasible. In addition, we will hold monthly group meetings during which projects will continue to be work-shopped. At the end of the 8 months, HBO will hold a reception for industry professionals where the writers will be introduced to the entertainment community.

Bare Bones International Film Festival is dedicated to screening feature motion picture projects with budgets less than 1 million dollars. Our main venue is a historic theatre with a nostalgic atmosphere, The Roxy, one of the last ones remaining built in the 40s.

Our philosophy is to promote and support the efforts of the small budget filmmakers and producers. We encourage comraderie among our filmmakers although it is a competition. Everyone is treated the same, so you will be treated as royalty. Red carpet premieres are standard, as are endless photo opportunities and media interviews. The Awards Gala recognizes the hard work you've put into your project, dress as you want, from tuxcedos to shorts, you decide.

The festival's events and activities are a true spring break and networking opportunity for Actors, Writers, Directors, Crew along with Filmmakers and Producers. Small town experience in and around Muskogee, OK USA, will give you a break from the hustle and bustle of a big city. In Muskogee we are "a place where even squares can have a ball" as the lyrics in Merle's 1968 song says, so don't be surprised when everyone greets you with a smile and a friendly "howdy".

    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

We are an independent festival dedicated to bringing together established and first-time filmmakers in a forum to celebrate the short film. The element of competition is not paramount and while the prizes are significant, it’s the taking part and screening of entrants' films in a public arena that counts. Our commitment, therefore, is to screen as many of the short films entered into our competitions as possible by streaming them on our own intranet network to venues all over the village of Schull. There are wifi hotspots too, so the films can be viewed on smart devices and laptops, but only in the village of Schull.

We show the competition films in the village hall, pubs, restaurants, shops and on the sides of buildings. We ask the question "What is a cinema, anyway?" and look for answers in every corner of the village. These are exciting times for the viewing public...we are trying to reflect this in our festival.

    CATEGORIES:

    • From The Gut
    • Dramatic Competition
    • Polish Feature Film Competition

    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

By "Off-Camera” we do not mean a camera that is turned off.
It stands for a camera which says “No!”
We throw out “off” up against the contemporary media market in Poland.
We do not want to adjust ourselves to its standards.
We want to forge alternative ones.
Denmark, a country of five million, gave the world the “Dogma” movement.
Romania, a country of twenty million, redefined the cinema of the last five years.
Doesn’t Poland, a country of 40 million, have people ready to speak in their own voice? We say “off” to a situation in which a talented artist, fresh from a successful debut, cannot afford to make another movie, one which would be something more than a mere product.
Being independent doesn’t have to end with your first project.
We do not want the words “TV” and “market” to mean “compromise” and “crassness”.

We want to switch the direction to “on” - we want independent
filmmakers to take advantage of the market, not the other way around.
That’s why we organize this festival.
Here, in Krakow, in the city associated with arts, opposition and intellectual underground. It should be a place of many encounters. It should be a place for exchanging ideas and discussion.

Time to switch the “Off-Camera” on.

    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

The Madrid International Film Festival is an international film event to celebrate the movie making whilst bringing together film makers and the business of film making, from the smallest independent film maker to the most popular English and foreign language films and is open to all film genres.

An inventive selection that is neither too traditional nor too sophisticated, a selection that is the most international in the world, open to all film types and yet never forgetting our over-riding passion- that of the love of film, a selection that is attentive to the arrival of new generations and which combines all the necessary conditions for the films to be hosted and honoured in the great tradition of film makers around the world.

A daring selection that seizes the best of the moment, a selection that creates desire, that triggers curiosity, that carries that certain vitality which currently fills film today and gives a hint of the film of tomorrow, a selection that helps these films, cinema, its creators and artists to exist and to continue their work....

As for the rest, always place film at the centre of our acts. Generally, to take nothing into account other than the art of film and the Prue-eminence of artistic talent, finally to facilitate transmission, so that tomorrow's Festival can continue the adventure with the combined strengths of experience and modernity Contributing towards the development of Cinema, boosting the film industry worldwide and celebrating making of film at an International Level

The Official Selection serves to highlight the diversity of cinematic creation through its different sections, the two most important of which are the Competition and UN Certain Regard. Films that are representative of “arthouse cinema with a wide audience appeal” are presented in Competition, and Un Certain Regard focuses on works that have an original aim and aesthetic, the Madrid International Film Festival Awards will be in on films entered in 2011 and 2014 The Filmmaker Award.

At Madrid International Film Festival short films feature in the Competition, in the Short Film Corner, a professional area dedicated to meeting people, exchanging ideas and promoting films.

We have built a small but exceptional professional network of industry professional that will look at all films entered and will give business and commercial advice, in some cases the distributors attending will make offers to the filmmakers for their work and to work together to put your movies in the market place, we have the people and skills in our professional team to make this happen, if the professional attending feel there is a market for your movie, they will as with many films over the years of our other festival make it happen.
We are unique in the amount of platforms and festival we offer filmmakers, we can create a ripple for your movie to be seen around the world, it all starts here by entering your movie.

The Festival is very keen to discover new talent and act as a springboard for creation. The development of the producers network gives filmmakers an oppertunity to pitch there future production.

The Madrid International film Festival is a truly International Film Festival open to industry professionals.

    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

    Original. International. Indie. Anti-Niche!

ReelHeART International Film Festival is worldwide independent film festival held every June in Toronto, Canada.

In 2004 our founder had a vision that a new film festival could be formed to fill the void created by the growing trend of 'niche' festivals.

After placing a Director as second in command, the shape and focus of ReelHeART became a reality and to this day constantly evolves to refine its mandate to put the spotlight on only the best in independent filmmaking from around the world.

Our niche is NO niche. We believe in all Cultures under one Roof. It's the same with our Films, Documentaries and Screenplays. We believe in cultural exchange of ideas and creative expression without borders and labels.

ReelHeART accepts films and documentaries of all genres, countries and film lengths. There are 14 Categories of Competition. Two of those categories are our Short Screenplay and Feature Screenplay Competition. Top Film Prize is the "Founder's Award" ('Best of the Fest').

ReelHeART is dedicated to supporting the need for exposure for ALL LEVELS of independent filmmakers around the world. We put emerging and student artists alongside established and master filmmakers in an effort that all filmmakers can be recognized for their art, rather than their credits.

We also have a goal to satisfy and challenge the interests of filmgoers and film supporters, to encourage, reward and celebrate the "Real HeART" of Independent Film and New Media.

Whether filmmaker, screenwriter, reviewer, media or industry professional, the welcome and networking opportunities you experience at ReelHeART will be talked about from one year to the next!

    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

Founded in 1996, The Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF) was the brainchild of local business and civic leaders who felt a film festival would offer an exciting cultural venue for the community, be a tremendous fundraiser for film and television education, and provide an excellent opportunity to introduce filmmakers to the area's resources.

Today the Palm Beach International Film Festival is renowned industry-wide as a destination for exhibitors to screen films and meet filmmakers, as we've formed a unique partnership with independent theater owners, film bookers, and distribution outlets from around the country. PBIFF is looking forward to fostering these relationships and helping our independent filmmakers get their projects seen by larger audiences.

PBIFF celebrates both the history and the future of the film industry with eight days of films from around the globe, including post-screening discussions with filmmakers and cast, special events, parties, networking opportunities, industry panels, and student filmmaking programs. The lineup includes narrative features, documentaries, and short films, many of which are World and U.S. Premieres. In 2003 PBIFF became a "Competitive" Festival, joining the ranks of other great film events such as Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, and Venice. In 2014 PBIFF, in a first-ever collaboration of its kind, joined forces with the world-renowned Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to present a spotlight on Canadian films. For its 20th Anniversary Festival in 2015, PBIFF has spread its wings with a satellite location in Naples, Florida. Now the Festival spans from Palm Beach County on the shores of the Atlantic to the beautiful Gulf Coast.

PBIFF has enjoyed a remarkable level of success to date. Unlike many festivals around the country, PBIFF has dedicated itself to making a difference in the lives of young people by helping to fulfill their dreams in the world of film. Proceeds generated each year go to the Palm Beach County Schools to provide new technologies for optimal learning in the form of grants and scholarships.

Throughout its history filmmakers and industry professionals from around the world have supported PBIFF by donating their services to the festival, including Adrien Brody, Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, Richard Jenkins, Malcolm McDowell, Anant Singh, James Whitmore, Tommy Lee Jones, Faye Dunaway, Jacqueline Bisset, Richard Zanuck, Dennis Hopper, Woody Harrelson, Louise Fletcher, Leslie Nielsen, Peter Boyle, John Daly, Lesley Ann Warren, Roger Moore, Ann-Margret, Sylvester Stallone, Esther Williams, Burt Reynolds, Michael Caine, Anouk Aimee, Salma Hayek, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Evans, Michael Clarke Duncan, Ben Gazzara, Fay Wray, and Robert Morse, to name a few.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Mission:
The Palm Beach International Film Festival was organized to develop, coordinate, and promote local, domestic, and international independent films in Palm Beach County and to increase public awareness of, and participation in, cinema as an art form. Now it reaches the Gulf Coast, as well, with a satellite location in Naples. The Festival strives to recognize new and original voices, and channel that excitement into a path for success. For today's filmmakers, to connect them with exhibitors who can bring their films to a larger audience through their movie theaters. For tomorrow's filmmakers, grants and scholarships to area schools, offering students an opportunity to pursue their dream for a career in the film industry.

    Vision:
The Palm Beach International Film Festival strives to be the greatest means to ENGAGE the community around us through the magic of cinema, while EDUCATING them about world issues -- past, present, and future -- via one of the most ENTERTAINING and powerful mediums available to everyone today: FILM. In so doing, we can help send present and future filmmakers onto a path to greater success.

    CATEGORIES:

    • Screenwriters' Lab: Screenplay Submissions
    • Screenwriters' Lab: Science & Technology Screenplays

    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

The Hamptons International Film Festival’s Screenwriters' Lab, going into its 15th year, is an intimate gathering that takes place each Spring in East Hampton, New York (April 10- 12, 2015). The Lab develops emerging screenwriting talent by pairing established writers & creative producers with up-and-coming screenwriters (chosen by HIFF in collaboration with key industry contacts). The mentors advise in a one-on-one creative laboratory setting while additional events bring the participants together with board members, sponsors, the local artistic community, and other friends of the festival. With scripts from past writers produced year after year, the Lab continues to be an inspiring and safe place for artists to find and hone their creative vision.

Recent mentors at the lab include Oren Moverman (The Messenger); Michael Cunningham (The Hours, Evening); James Vanderbilt (Zodiac); Mark Heyman (Black Swan); Rob Siegel (The Wrestler); Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson, Sugar, It's Kind of a Funny Story); Hawk Ostby (Children of Men); Billy Frolick (Madagascar); J.D. Zeik (Ronin); J. Robin Baitz (People I Know, The Substance of Fire); Whit Stillman (Metropolitan, The Last Days of Disco); Ira Sachs (40 Shades of Blue, This Married Life); Andy Bienen (Boys Don't Cry); Jeff Sharp (Producer, You Can Count on Me, Evening); Lawrence Konner (The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire); Maria Maggenti (The Incredibly True Adventures of Two Girls in Love); Sabrina Dhawan (Monsoon Wedding, Cosmopolitan); Gregory Widen (Highlander, Backdraft); Mark Christopher (54); Maggie Greenwald (Songcatcher, Ballad of Little Jo); Laurie Collyer (Sherrybaby); Lawrence Lasker (Sneakers, War Games); Chap Taylor (Changing Lanes, National Treasure); and Dylan Kidd (Roger Dodger, P.S.).

We seek a broad selection of screenplays addressing a wide subject matter. Additionally, in collaboration with The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation's initiative in furthering the public understanding of science, we encourage writers to submit screenplays that explore science, technology, mathematics, invention, and engineering in fresh and innovative ways.
