    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

    Cleveland’s own homegrown film festival celebrates its first year in 2015. It is produced by local company, On the Edge Films, host of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour here for 15 years and Mountainfilm on Tour in 2013. Continuing the Cleveland tradition of showing first-class films from around the world, On the Edge Films will offer its audience films and discussion on issues of local, regional and world relevance.

    This year, we’ll be searching the globe for documentaries, narratives, shorts and animations: exciting “edge of your seat” adrenaline films, enlightening world culture films, adventure films that depict travels or personal journeys and films on all aspects of the environment, including nature and sustainability.

    Our goal is to promote dialogue with thought-provoking film making, increase awareness about social and environmental issues, motivate audiences to help bring about change and first and foremost, to entertain and engage our viewers!

    AWARDS AND PRIZES
    Awards and prizes for various categories to be announced. A limited amount of hotel stays may be provided.

    MISSION & OBJECTIVE:

    The Yellowknife International Film Festival is presented by the Western Arctic Moving Pictures film cooperative. YKIFF is the sole media arts festival in the Northwest Territories that celebrates media artists and their works. The importance of this festival in the NWT is invaluable in terms of support and growth of regional media arts, and bringing independent content to Northern Canada. The critical and curatorial objective of YKIFF is to expose the NWT to a national and international arts discourse that is relevant to residents, while placing Northern and Aboriginal artists within that context. The festival brings new trends and ideas to the Northern film community, promoting dialogue and collaboration. YKIFF is also a venue to support the films of NWT and Northern filmmakers, exposing their works to the public. YKIFF promotes a Polar theme, showcasing films from the global Northern region. Most of all, YKIFF seeks to entertain the NWT audience with engaging and entertaining films.
