U.S. Narrative Feature Films can be of any genre except Conservation or Documentary (See specific categories). Minimum running time should be 50 minutes or more. The submitted project must be either scripted or improvisational fiction and/or docu-drama (including mockumentary, but not a documentary), and at least 50% of the project's financing must originate from within the United States. A World, North American, USA, West Coast, California and Los Angeles Premieres are preferred, not required. WITH THAT SAID, for eligibility; other LOS ANGELES PREMIERES / SCREENINGS can NOT be 30 days before or during our festival within Los Angeles County. You do not qualify for our festival if you are screening/premiering in Los Angeles County during that time. Films that have been exhibited theatrically outside of the festival circuit, broadcast on TV, the Internet, released to the public via any home video or another distribution platform including, but not limited to, pre-sales for DVD, Blu-ray or video on demand (outside of the Festival Circuit) are not eligible for the Festival. Films with distribution deals that are only traveling the festival circuit, and are not being publicly exhibited or displayed, are still eligible for competition. COMPLETION DATE: NO GREATER than 2 years before the first day of this film festival. PLACE OF ORIGIN Must originate from USA PREMIERE STATUS LOS ANGELES PREMIERE PREFERRED, Must not screen or premiere within Los Angeles County up to 30 days before or during our event. U.S. Short Films can be of any genre except Animation, Conservation, Documentary or Horror (please submit to those specific categories). In order to qualify as a U.S. Short Film, at least half of the submitted project's financing must originate from within the United States. Short Films have no premiere requirements or prior screening restrictions, but cannot be available online for free or for purchase before or during festival exhibition dates. The total running time should be no greater than 25 Minutes. COMPLETION DATE: NO GREATER than 2 years before the first day of this film festival. RUNTIME Shorts: From 1 minutes to 25 minutes PLACE OF ORIGIN Projects must originate from USA PREMIERE STATUS No premiere requirement DISTRIBUTION STATUS No USA distribution Before or During Festival Dates. Submissions to this category are for HIGH SCHOOL students of any age that have a qualifying project shot while they were in HIGH SCHOOL (or international equivalent). Film Students and Masters Program students have the option to submit in our regular film categories as well, but must submit to that specific category, not as a student, and not in both categories for the same project. (Filmmakers under 18 years of age must have film submitted by a parent or guardian.) Only SHORTS accepted. By submitting to this category, it understood that you are still within the learning process of your career ambitions and are not considered a film professional within the industry. This FEATURE FILM Script contest will award an outstanding screenplay that fully exemplifies a well-rounded and entertaining FEATURE story that is poised to be the next "green-lit" feature film in Hollywood. 20 Top Finalists will be chosen, and other accolades will be awarded for various genres, themes and topics. It will be read by professional script-readers with a discriminating eye for plotline, structure, and marketability. You must submit with the intent of putting it into consideration with prominent film professionals eager to find their next project.
